Darumaisgod (だるまいずごっど) of Crazy Raccoon is back on Twitch after a long absence. It wasn't a full comeback, but the turnout was enormous. His "talk about the past and future" stream drew more than 180,000 concurrent viewers at its peak, and he passed 1 million followers along the way. Omedeto, Daruma! 👼🎉
He announced the stream on X earlier in the day, saying he would talk about "things so far and going forward" from around 20:00 JST.
Why he took a break

The main cause is his left hand. He can't move the fingers properly, and even typing is hard. He has been playing League of Legends with only his middle and ring fingers. FPS games and leverless controllers are out, but a standard controller is still fine.
He tried to fix things with a healthier lifestyle and strength training, but that left him with a strained lower back and neck. He has been to several large hospitals, including for an MRI, and the cause is still unknown.
What comes next
There is no prospect of a return yet, and no plans this year. He will announce it once that changes, and he may just switch a stream on without warning. Even in the worst case, where his left hand never recovers, he said he would find another way to keep going.
Events and tournaments: basically no
Crazy Raccoon festival or Lawson-style collabs: yes, if possible
Visiting other streamers: maybe on a whim, but don't count on it
Past archives: "don't look back at the past," unless a solution turns up
Birthday stream: none, and he told fans to spend that money on their own health instead
No retirement, ever
Daruma was firm that retirement is off the table. He sees streaming as a hobby, not a job, so he "can't quit." He joked that he has never done ads or sponsorships, so he certainly hasn't "made it." By his own account, he is in great spirits and mentally healthy.
Life during the break
He can now bench press 100 kg and easily walks 10,000 steps a day. He has also been seeing a chiropractor, playing Monster Strike, Street Fighter 6 and LoL Mayhem, and collecting Pokémon cards. He mentioned a sharp pain on the right side of his head and asked anyone with relevant knowledge to get in touch.
On the lighter side, Sui-chan is doing well at his family home, which is full of animals. Maple retired in tears after a weapon that took eight months to obtain was destroyed. He also backs Crazy Raccoon in the SFL but wants to cheer on his master Shuto and Kincho too.
Crazy Raccoon has changed while he was away. Ras and Cpt have completed their South Korean military service, and Karubi, Toto and LEO have joined the team. LEO is the streaming name of Hey! Say! JUMP's Ryosuke Yamada, announced at CR FES 2025 in August 2025. Fans were thrilled to hear Daruma's voice again, and many said they will wait as long as it takes. Welcome back, Daruma! 👼
