Want your phone keyboard to feel as spooky as Hethereau? Keyboard app Simeji, which is popular in Japan, has launched a Halloween collaboration with open-world RPG Neverness to Everness (NTE). It runs from October 22 to November 22, 2026.

Three Halloween skins

The collab brings Halloween-style keyboard themes for three characters:

  • 異能者・零 (Esper Zero), the game's protagonist

  • ミント (Mint)

  • レクイエム (Lacrimosa), who goes by Requiem in the Japanese version

How to get the skins

  1. Download Simeji on your smartphone. If you already have it, update to the latest version.

  2. Tap the campaign post on Simeji's official X account (@Simeji_pr), or tap the collab banner inside the app. Either one takes you to the campaign page. It is smartphone-only.

  3. Pick the skin you want on the campaign page.

  4. Tap the "Share on X and get the skin" button (XシェアしてきせかえをGET) and post on X.

  5. After you've shared, go back to the Simeji app to download and apply the skin.

The campaign runs from October 22, 6:00 PM to November 22, 11:59 PM (JST).

Unlock two more as a community

There's also a "5,000 Share Challenge." Every share on X counts as collecting candy. If the community reaches 5,000 shares in total, two more sealed skins are released. The extra skins are distributed once the goal is reached.

Type a name, trigger an effect

Everyone can use the new input effects during the campaign. Type one of the keywords below in Japanese and pick it from the suggestions, and an image or animation plays on your keyboard:

  • NTE

  • ナナリ (Nanally)

  • レクイエム (Lacrimosa)

  • ミント (Mint)

  • 異能者・零 (Esper Zero)

  • 鑑定師 (Appraiser)

The effects only respond to the Japanese spellings, so you'll need the Japanese keyboard to trigger them. The replay button appears only for the first three times you type each keyword, and you can tap it to replay the effect as often as you like.

Good to know

The skins don't support iPad. Once you get one, you can use it for 180 days. Free Simeji skins can't be transferred between devices, so be careful if you reinstall or switch phones.

Japan-based fans can also enter a prize draw for a Lacrimosa (Requiem) or Nanally can badge, with 10 winners. To enter, follow both @NTE_JP and @Simeji_pr, then share from the collab page during the campaign. The draw is only open to residents of Japan with a Japanese contact address, and private accounts are excluded.

Not in Japan?

Simeji is also available overseas on iOS and Android.
Fans elsewhere can download it and try the keyboard themes and effects!

NTE launched on April 29, 2026 for PS5, iOS, Android and PC. It is set in the modern city of Hethereau, where supernatural anomalies are part of everyday life. Players take the role of an Appraiser who investigates those anomalies, fights, explores the city and even runs a shop.
