OSAKA - Three people were stabbed in Osaka’s popular Dotonbori entertainment district in the early hours of Sunday morning, with emergency services responding to the scene around midnight and a 17-year-old male from Nara Prefecture confirmed dead. The suspect remains on the run and authorities have blocked off the area.

According to Osaka Prefectural Police, emergency calls came in around 12:00 a.m. on February 15 reporting that “people have been stabbed” in the Dotonbori 1-chome area of Chuo Ward. Three individuals were stabbed in total, with the teenage victim’s death confirmed by authorities. The condition of the other two victims has not been disclosed.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack and has not been caught. Police have set up barriers around the incident location, with multiple police vehicles, fire trucks, and ambulances arriving at the tourist hotspot.
