Update 8 substantially widens the drivable map, linking key urban corridors with scenic coastal stretches across several newly added and upgraded districts:

Alongside the road extensions, the development team focused heavily on local realism. The update populates urban routes with over 15 new sets of functioning traffic signals, more than 50 authentic orange Hong Kong waste bins, over 50 fire hydrants, and countless localised traffic signs and speed-limit markings.

Interactive Taxi System and Passenger Mechanics

A major highlight of Update 8 is the debut of functional urban taxi services. Players can spawn iconic Hong Kong red taxis from either Chai Wan or the newly introduced Sheung Wan spawn depot.

Taxis now feature three distinct operating modes:

• For Hire: Pick up automated NPC passenger bots and transport them across the island to their requested destinations. Safe and smooth driving without high-speed collisions rewards drivers with generous passenger tips. When riders display a rush emoji 🤑, speeding is permitted without penalising passenger satisfaction, provided motorists avoid crashing.

• Roleplay: Open your cab to fellow online players and offer manual rides across the territory.

• On Break: Take your taxi off-duty for casual personal driving.

Vehicle Customisation and Dealership Overhaul

Update 8 completely modernises vehicle acquisition and tuning. Players will find a redesigned dealership user interface, a refreshed cash-rebate incentive system, and the ability to sell owned vehicles back to the market.

The vehicle customisation workbench has also been thoroughly renovated alongside a brand-new license plate generator. Under the hood, multiple vehicles have been migrated to the game's latest chassis physics engine, coupled with backend server performance optimisations and improved vehicle spawn reliability.

Smart Map UI and Quality-of-Life Upgrades

Navigating Hong Kong is now more intuitive thanks to an overhauled interactive world map and mini-map system. Drivers can toggle custom map filters to display or hide spawn points, parking spaces, parks, and fixed speed cameras. The map also supports direct teleportation with real-time distance readouts from the player's current location.

Multiplayer tracking allows users to filter map icons between all players, friends only, or personal view. When multiple drivers gather in close proximity, the map automatically groups them into interactive cluster pins that expand upon selection to reveal individual player tags. Additional quality-of-life additions include functional on-street parking meters, a broken streetlamp reporting mechanism, HUD speedometer speed-limit indicators on select roads, an updated radio player, and customisable device interface display presets.
