TOKYO — DJI has announced the Mic Mini 2S, the first entry in its Mic Mini lineup to feature internal recording, marking a global upgrade over the recently released Mic Mini 2. Designed for creators who need reliable audio capture in unpredictable environments, the compact wireless mic combines up to 28 hours of onboard storage, 32-bit float internal recording, 4TX+1RX connectivity, and two-tier AI noise cancellation, covering everything from solo vlogging to street interviews, podcasts, and group productions.
Capturing Sound With Confidence
The Mic Mini 2S is built to reduce the risk of losing valuable takes. Its 32-bit float internal recording gives creators far more flexibility when adjusting volume levels in post-production, capturing everything from faint whispers to sudden loud bursts without clipping. Each transmitter includes roughly 14.5GB of built-in storage, supporting up to 28 hours of recording in the default 24-bit mode.

Smarter Noise Control
A two-tier AI noise cancellation system adapts to different recording environments:
Basic mode reduces indoor background noise like fans, air con, and echo.
Strong mode suppresses harsher outdoor noise to keep dialogue clear.
Additional tools give creators finer control over sound quality:
Clipping Control attenuates audio in volatile environments to prevent distortion.
Loudness Balance evens out output levels for interviews and livestreams.
Three Voice Tone presets, Regular, Bright, and Rich, let users shape their sound with minimal post-processing.
Built for Multi-Person Setups
The Mic Mini 2S supports up to four transmitters connected to a single receiver simultaneously, making it well suited for panel discussions, podcasts, interviews, and small-group productions. It's also backward compatible with transmitters from the original Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2, and DJI Mic series mobile receivers, allowing creators to expand their setups affordably.

Compact Design, Personal Touches
Each transmitter weighs approximately 12 grams and supports both clip and magnetic attachment. Removable magnetic front covers let users customize their mic's look, with eight color options available separately. DJI has also introduced a special "Time Series" magnetic front cover collection designed in collaboration with illustrator Victo Ngai, reflecting different life stages through visual design.

Seamless DJI Ecosystem Integration
Mic Mini 2S transmitters connect directly to compatible Osmo cameras, including the Osmo Pocket 4P, Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6, via OsmoAudio direct connection, transmitting 48kHz/24-bit audio without needing a receiver. This simplifies workflows for creators already working within the DJI ecosystem.
Market Reaction
Early coverage frames the Mic Mini 2S as the fix for the Mic Mini line's most cited gap, the lack of internal recording compared with DJI's flagship Mic 3, positioning it as the "pro" version creators had been asking for. Industry pricing estimates ahead of the global rollout pegged the top bundle at roughly US$165, in line with today's Japan pricing below.
