Sneaker fans in central Japan have a new reason to make a stop in Nagoya.
Onitsuka Tiger, the Japanese fashion brand known for blending heritage craftsmanship with modern design, is opening a flagship store right at Nagoya Station on Friday, August 7. It's the brand's second largest store in the country, trailing only the massive global flagship that opened in Shinjuku back in July 2026.
Nagoya Station sits at the crossroads of the Tokai and Chubu regions, drawing travelers from Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka, plus visitors arriving from elsewhere in Japan and abroad. For many people, it's the very first taste of the city they get. Onitsuka Tiger is leaning into that, treating the store as a new anchor point for the brand in the region and a space where customers can experience its craftsmanship and design philosophy, not just shop for shoes.
What really sets this store apart is the range on offer. For the first time in the Nagoya area, shoppers will find all three of the brand's lines under one roof: Heritage, which reinterprets the brand's archive through NIPPON MADE and ITALIAN MADE pieces, Contemporary, home to the collections shown during Milan Fashion Week, and Formality, the brand's formal shoe category. It's a full picture of what Onitsuka Tiger does, all in one place.

The design itself draws from Nagoya's dual identity as a city of cultural refinement and industrial strength. Spread across two floors, the space uses terrazzo, steel, and marble to build something that feels both sharp and inviting. The ground floor is open and airy, with terrazzo and steel fixtures creating a neutral yet polished backdrop, while lighting boxes overhead, inspired by traditional Japanese andon lanterns, cast dynamic light and shadow across the room. Head upstairs and the mood shifts. Rosso Levanto marble takes center stage, doubling as both display surface and sculptural detail, giving the second floor a warmer, more immersive feel.

For a brand built on the idea of combining tradition with cutting edge design, this store is less a shop and more a statement, and it's landing in one of the most well traveled corners of central Japan.
