Cathay Pacific Cancels Over 280 Flights on 26 July as Typhoon Noul Brings No. 8 Signal

Cathay Pacific has cancelled a very large number of flights to and from Hong Kong on Sunday, 26 July, as Typhoon Noul moves inland and the No. 8 Southwest Gale or Storm Signal remains in force.
According to the latest data from Hong Kong International Airport, more than 140 arrivals and around 140 departures operated by Cathay Pacific have been cancelled so far, bringing the total well above 280 flights.
Current Typhoon Situation
Noul is moving steadily into inland Guangdong and weakening progressively, but gales are still affecting many places over Hong Kong, with occasional storm force winds over high ground. The Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 will remain in force at least until noon. Depending on the degree of weakening of local winds, the Observatory will then consider issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3.
Under the influence of rainbands associated with Noul, there will be frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms over the territory today. Seas will be high with swells.
