We Got GTA 6 Delay Announcement Before GTA 6
By Timmy
Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will miss its anticipated Fall 2025 release window, now set to launch on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement, shared via a statement on Rockstar’s website and social media, has sparked a wave of reactions across platforms like X, with fans expressing both disappointment and humor over the delay.
The statement from Rockstar read, “We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”
The delay follows months of speculation, with earlier reports from outlets like Kotaku suggesting development challenges might push the release to 2026. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, had repeatedly affirmed a Fall 2025 target until this announcement. Industry insiders, including Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, noted that many at Rockstar had long doubted the 2025 window was feasible.
While the delay disappoints fans, it has opened opportunities for other publishers to secure 2025 release slots without competing against GTA 6’s expected dominance. Rockstar has promised more updates soon, but for now, the wait for Vice City’s return continues.
